Celebration of Life - Qigong Master Jennie Trotter
On Saturday, April 15th, 2023, we celebrated the life of Jennie Trotter. She was not just a Qigong Master of Spring Forest Qigong – she was an inspiration for our community. Spring Forest Qigong CEO Debra Lin and Qigong Master Katrina Tobey joined friends and family of Master Trotter in Atlanta, GA, USA for this celebration. We'd like to share some beautiful moments of our time there with you.
Jennie C. Trotter ~ April 17th, 1948 - January 14th, 2022
Master Jennie Trotter was the founding executive director of the Wholistic Stress Control Institute, which she founded in 1984 in response to the Missing and Murdered Children Crisis in Atlanta. Her vision was to bring stress education to children on a wide scale, in order to help prevent those sorts of crises. She began incorporating SFQ into her practice about 25 years ago. Many people in the SFQ community remember Master Jennie Trotter for her hugs, her laughs, and her wisdom.
She helped to bring Spring Forest Qigong to Atlanta, started teaching SFQ in her community, and trained many Qigong practitioners in the Atlanta area. Eventually, they formed the SFQ Atlanta Guild, which meets monthly to practice Qigong movements and meditations.
